Freedom, Love & Empowerment

Today we are talking about an ugly truth.  Sex trafficking is a worldwide problem that destroys the lives of children, ranging from infants to young adults.  These children, an estimated 2 million worldwide, lose their childhood, their futures, and their lives to this evil industry.

3Strands is a company that fights against sex trafficking by providing rescued children with opportunity.  3Strands works with the Agape International Mission to open training centers in Cambodia that provide these children with educational opportunities and well paying, sustainable jobs so that they can reintegrate into their communities with honor and dignity.  Their goal is to push the healing process past the physical level by helping these children heal spiritually and emotionally to become whole again.

Today, 3Strands is giving away 3 bracelets to Sisters in the City readers.  These bracelets are made by hand with love by these rescued children.  Each bracelet is unique and signed by it’s unique maker.  The bracelets also feature a beautiful, red Sandalwood seed, a seed from a tree native to Cambodia, as a symbol of the astounding beauty and worth of each child that is rescued.

Please, enter this giveaway to show support for 3Strands and these amazing survivors.  Help us spread the word about this cause!

Simple Day to Night

dress: H&M (similar) / purse: Tory Burch (on sale now!) / necklace: c/o Samantha Wills / bracelet: c/o Samantha Wills (similar)

This simple outfit is perfect for a day trip into the city.  When we go to Chicago, Tyler and I usually spend the day at a museum and then go out to dinner at night.  These trips always require a comfortable outfit that is casual enough for the museum, but doesn’t look grungy at dinner.  Of course, a classic cotton tee shirt dress in black can do the trick.  I dressed it down with the denim jacket for the day, and then added this gorgeous jewelry to dress it up at night.

If you are looking for absolutely AMAZING jewelry, you need to check out Samantha Wills.  This fantastic Australian designer is a huge inspiration to me.  She has seen so much success so fast, which makes perfect sense because her pieces are seriously stunning.  If you are looking to invest in gorgeous new jewelry that will last forever, Samantha Wills is perfect for you!  Check out a few of my favorites here, here, and here.

Happy Monday!

Meet Me at The Max

graphic tee: Target (sold out online, still in select stores and available here)/ other completely awesome Saved By The Bell tees here, here and hereTHIS one is my absolute favorite!

An outfit like hers deserves to be a part of an outfit like mine.  Hot pink stretchy skirt, denim jacket, and of course an over-sized Kelly Kapowski shirt to finish off the look.  Funky?  Yes.  Love it?  Have to.   I can’t express my undying love for Saved By the Bell.  I loved it as a kid and I think I love it even more now.  Did you guys know it’s on Netflix now?  It’s awesome!

Have a great weekend everyone!

For the Nautically Obsessed

Sorry guys, but I can’t get enough of the nautical look.  Not only is this outfit extremely adorable, but its also very comfortable.  Now who can argue with that?  I think we’ve both said it a million times, but eShakti is seriously the best!  They have the cutest 50′s inspired pieces at affordable prices and I LOVE that you can customize.  It makes it so easy to find things that fit me perfectly.
